Classy Sweaterdress

I am looking for a classy wool sweater dress. I know that they are sellling fast. Are there several out there you could recommend? Thanks, Dress Girl

Dearest Dress Girl,

This is definitely the time to get a great deal on sassy sweater dresses! Fashion houses and retailers are starting the display spring merchandise, but the weather is still going to be COLD for several more months. Ergo, plenty of opportunity to wear said sassy sweater dresses!

Here are a few options for great styles. First, I adore this little number from Banana Republic. It is a gorgeous cashmere/wool blend, so it is oh-so-soft! Also, it is a fabulous length and can be worn alone with leggings or tights and a pair of great oxford style platforms, or paired with a pair of straight leg jeans and stylish ankle boots for a more casual look.
Another option is this great classic sweater dress with just a bit of edge from Shopbop. The swingy tent style looks fabulous on its own, or cinched with a fabulous belt. Again, this dress can be paired with skyhigh skyscrapers or a pair of fabulous knee boots. Dress it up, dress it down, you'll always be in style!
Check out the selections at Nordstrom too. This gorgeous tie neck sweater dress by BCBG Max Azria is so stylish and it has pockets! I love the adjustable tie neck too. Another very chic sweater dress is this a-line pleated dress by Theory. Very figure flattering and a great length too. This dress would look fabulous with a pair of platform Mary Janes and a sleek little bag.

Fashion de Medicine!

I need your help. STAT. My 31-year-old STYLISH sister (who is also I doctor - so we have to think fun AND professional) needs our help. She is having a double mastectomy next week and will start chemo soon after. Sooo ... I was thinking ... I really want to get her something AMAZING as a head cover. I have been looking around online but have found NOTHING to my liking. Any suggestions would be partied over!

Marlo

First of all, we wish the very best for your sister in her treatment and recovery. Keep those spirits up! A dear friend of mine recently went through chemo treatments, too. One of the things that she mentioned which really helped boost her spirits was finding headwear that made her feel like a woman again. She eschewed the traditional wigs (said they made her feel like a little old lady) and she found this fabulous website, Headcovers Unlimited. The site and products are specifically for people with hair loss issues.

Her favorites were the two-tone turban, the newsboy cap with bow, and the Amy hat, which is particularly stylish, Since your sister is a doctor and needs a professional look, you might want to try the cotton headscarves, which are 100% cotton, ultra-soft and perfectly sized for tying.

Another tip from my friend...eyebrows! She said it really boosted her confidence and her spirits to have visible eyebrows and eyelashes. The site offers so many different options.
