Where She She Girls go to find the latest styles and the hottest trends and where your fashion, beauty and lifestyle questions are answered!
Darling Girl, what a fabulous vacation opportunity! And, of course you will want to be stylishly attired, so let's get cracking!
First of all -- been there, done that, bought the cashmere tee shirt. And you are absolutely right, glamping is camping for the uber-prissy, uber-stylish. Very Great Gatsby-esque, replete with safari and equestrian styling. What to wear depends entirely upon what type of glamping experience you wish to have. These resorts offer everything from a luxury spa-type experience to actual adventure vacations, complete with hiking, boating, horseback riding and fishing. If you've never been there, Montana is an entirely different world, especially for a southern girl. Thankfully, it is not humid and the weather is much more temperate. Plan on mid to high 80's during the day, but the evenings can get a bit nippy, so be sure to take along a stylish jacket or wrap.
If you are the adventurous type, I would wholeheartedly endorse that particular aspect of glamping, because after a day of hiking through the glorious mountains of Montana, you can relax in a bubble-filled jetted tub and sip a frosty concoction while soothing your overtaxed muscles. Wardrobe options: designer jeans, fitted tees, light jacket, comfy trainers or hiking boots and a great cross-body bag for your lipstick, sunscreen, shades and other girly gear. I
f horseback riding is on the menu, invest in a chic pair of riding boots because they never go out of style, and look great with both jeans and long skirts and dresses. Fly fishing usually means getting up in the wee hours of the morning, so dress accordingly - LAYERS: a comfy cotton tee shirt or shell, worn under a warm turtleneck, worn under this season's uber-hot plaid butto
n-down, topped by a down filled vest. Finish with a great pair of jeans and waterproof shoes (the resort will provide the waders and fishing gear. My waders weren't totally waterproof and I ruined my suede sneaks, so that's why I recommend waterproof shoes or even canvas sneaks.) A great pair of corduroy, khaki or cargo style trousers is also a great choice and a good change-up from denim. Keep your active wardrobe in the neutral tones and add splashes of color with sweaters and scarfs.
For the girly girl who is all about the luxury spa experience, take full advantage of all the resort has to offer. A stylish swimsuit and coverup for poolside, paired with sleek slip-on sandals and an adorable tote for your sunscreen, shades and goodies. Don't forget to protect your hair and face with a wide-brimmed sunhat. A sassy sundress and embellished sandals is perfect for spending a warm summer afternoon lazing in a lounger with a great book. As is a gorgeous linen skirt and floaty top, paired with espadrilles. Don't forget the accessories! Stacks of bangles or a unique bracelet, an antique chain necklace and stylish dangle earrings all add the perfect cachet.
