Finding the Right Jeans

Dear She She,

I have a difficult time finding jeans to fit me. If the jeans fit in the waist they are really baggy in the thigh, and if they fit in the thigh they are really big in the waist. I have tried many different brands, some work better than others, but I was wondering if you had any suggestions on a particular type or style that might work well for me. Help!

It sounds like you need to look for jeans made specifically for a curvy figure. You have a smaller waist and curves, so your best bet is going to be to look for jeans made with a bit of Spandex or Lycra in the denim. This will allow for a more snug fit in the thigh and tush, while snugging in the waist without causing muffin-top.

The best jeans out there for your figure are Joe's Jeans Honey Fit, which is made specifically for girls with curves. These are a favorite with celebrities like Beyonce, Alicia Keyes, Britney Spears and Jessica Alba. Also, Paige Premium Denim “Hollywood Hills” Jeans. They have a classic bootcut fit with a slightly higher rise and works wonderfully with curves.

Also, check out PZI jeans. These are so figure flattering. They snug in all the right places without making you feel like a sausage. They are contoured at the waist to eliminate that awful gap, and have just the right amount of stretch to snug the hip, rear and thigh. They come in a variety of inseam lengths so they can be worn with flats, boots, and heels by women of all heights. They come in a variety of styles from bootcut, to skinny to wide leg.

Just wanted to remind everyone not to forget the value of a tailor, who can alter most parts of any jeans for very inexpensively!
