NYFW: Carolina Herrera's Sweet Spring 2012

With dedicated designer fan Renee Zellweger in the front row, Carolina Herrera presented her Spring 2012 collection: a decidedly elegant yet easy anthology of exquisite ensembles featuring prints of sprightly sparrows in robin red and canary yellow; dresses in creamy shades of mint and dusty featured embroidery and art deco details and a couple of simmery coats as outerwear.

This floor length black and white graphic gown with sheer periwinkle trim is one of my all time favorites! I adore the asymmetrical hemline and the flowy skirt. Not too sheer, not too bare, absolutely perfect.

My new lbd!! This dress will see me though every occasion where the perfect little black dress is required. I adore the angled detailing on the skirt, and the pocket! So sweet.

Mrs. Herrera credit attention to detail in this collection. "Fashion has to have details and it's a way of doing them in a very simple way that they look effortless," she said. "That's what fashion should be: effortless and fun."

She hit the mark with the spring collection!
