April Showers bring... Rainy Day Hair

The old saying goes April showers bring May flowers, which is great and all but the shower phase creates a real hair hassle. To reign in (pun intended) the frizz and frustration, Licari Cutler/Redken Salon stylist Amy Moscowitz gives us her best tips and tricks for rainy day hair.

For long hair, I love a top knot or fishtail braid. Prep the hair with a texture spray like Redken Fashion Waves 07 to add some texture while fighting off that rainy air. If your a skilled braider, try a fishtail but keep it messy and loose. The key to making this look seem put together is controlling the hair from roots to mid-shaft, where the braid or top knot would start, with a serum like Redken Frizz Dismiss Rebel Tame to keep baby hairs and flyaways in check.

If you have bob(ish) length hair, part it down the middle and pull it into two small low buns for a 90’s retro-cool vibe. Or try two tight braids and you'll fight the weather and be right on trend!

If you must wear your hair down, embrace a messy beachy texture so that weather can't beat you! Try layering Redken Frizz Dismiss Rebel Tame with a sea spray like Fashion Waves to balance it out. Use a curling iron to create some structure alongside your natural texture.
